Privacy Policy
Last updated 15 October 2026
Dub-zi (https://dubzi.reelzpro.com) lets you dub short video scenes with your own voice to practise English. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. If you have a question or want your data deleted, email [email protected].
What we collect
When you sign in with Google
We ask Google only for basic sign-in information (the openid, email and profile permissions). From your Google account we receive and store:
- your name,
- your email address,
- the link to your profile picture, and
- your Google account ID, which keeps your account the same if your email changes.
We don't get access to your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, or anything else in your Google account, and we never see your Google password.
When you record a dub
- Your microphone is used only while you test it or record. The recording stays in your browser until you choose Upload my dub; if you don't upload, it is never sent to us.
- When you upload, we store your voice recording, a compressed copy of it, and the finished dub (the scene's video with your voice mixed in), together with the scene, the date and the timing adjustment you chose.
Cookies and browser storage
- dubzi_session: keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. We store only a scrambled (hashed) form of it.
- dubzi_oauth: a temporary cookie used during sign-in for up to 10 minutes, to protect against forged sign-in requests.
- In your browser's local storage we keep an anonymous device ID (used to move dubs you recorded before signing in to your account), your chosen microphone, and whether captions are on. These stay on your device.
We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, and we don't track you across other websites.
Server logs
Like most websites, our server records basic request details (such as IP address, time and the page requested) to keep the service running and secure.
How we use it
- to sign you in and keep your dubs in your account, on any device;
- to show you your dubs and let you replace or delete them;
- to review uploaded dubs: the Dub-zi team can listen to them to check quality, fix problems and keep the service free of abuse;
- to keep the service secure and working.
If we add new features that use your recordings in other ways, such as automatic pronunciation feedback, we will update this policy first.
Sharing
We don't sell your information or share it with advertisers. Your dubs are private: they aren't shown to other learners. We share information only when the law requires it, or with providers that run part of the service for us. Today that is Google, for sign-in.
When you share a dub yourself: if you create a share link, anyone with that link can watch that one dub without an account. The page shows the dub, the scene's title and your first name, never your email or full name. Shared links are kept out of search engines. You can stop sharing at any time on My dubs, and the link stops working straight away. If you post a dub to Instagram or another app, that app's own privacy policy applies to the copy you post.
Google user data
Dub-zi's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use your Google information only to sign you in and to identify your account in Dub-zi.
How long we keep it
- Your account information: until you ask us to delete your account.
- Your dubs: until you delete them. Uploading a new take of a scene replaces your previous dub, and the old one is deleted.
- Sign-in sessions: they expire after 30 days, or when you sign out.
Your choices
- Delete any dub yourself on the My dubs page.
- To delete your account and all your dubs, email [email protected] from the address you sign in with. We complete deletions within 30 days.
- You can also remove Dub-zi's access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
Security
https://dubzi.reelzpro.com is served over HTTPS. Session cookies can't be read by scripts on the page, and we store session tokens only in hashed form. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
Dub-zi is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has signed up, contact us and we will delete the account.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes we'll let signed-in learners know in the app.
